Our Legacy

Concorde Inc. is a privately owned Canadian company that specializes in negotiation, mediation, and dispute resolution system design. Concorde was founded by Dr. Benjamin Hoffman in 1989 and quickly became the leader in Canada in providing facilitation and mediation services in a broad range of disputes in both the private and public sectors. It now also serves clients internationally. Concorde's strength is sound analysis of conflict and creative consensus-building techniques. For ten years the company delivered the Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate Program of the Canadian International Institute of Applied Negotiation (CIIAN). CIIAN, a nongovernmental organization based in Ottawa, was founded by Ben Hoffman, Canadian Senator Douglas Roche, and others in 1990.

Concorde has extended its vision and technical strengths by focussing on the role of power in human relationships.

This R&D initiative, called NewMathforHumanity, is the direct result of Ben Hoffman's professional and Concorde's corporate experience. Ben's passion for justice, an acute awareness of how power is central to all human endeavour, in both creative achievements and apparently intractable conflicts, inspires our vision.

As an initiative, Concorde recognizes that NewMathforHumanity is in part a stimulant to new thinking about power, an R&D initiative; and in part, a new service of the company. But moreover, Concorde recognizes that NewMathforHumanity's vision is broad, and bold, and well beyond the capacity of a single entity. It is a work in progress already underway with people worldwide who strive for freedom, justice and prosperity for all of humanity.
