CONCORDE INC. OPENS BOOTCAMP FOR PEACEWORKERS

(Eganville, May 5, 2004)- Concorde Inc. is pleased to announce that it will run a Peaceworker Bootcamp this summer.

"Over the last ten years I have worked in many parts of the world helping local people in their search for peace and reconciliation. I saw a real need for new Peaceworkers to get a feel for conditions they will encounter in developing and war-torn societies before they depart for this challenging work" said Dr. Ben Hoffman, former Director of the Conflict Resolution Program at the Jimmy Carter Center and President of Concorde Inc., a Canadian conflict resolution company.

The six-day hands-on Peaceworker Bootcamp will be run on a beautiful, rugged piece of land in an old mountain range two hours west of Ottawa. Participants will experience conditions similar to what they might find in a UN or NGO compound in a developing country or war zone. That is, no frills.

Hoffman notes, "We've had very strong and positive feedback to the design and unique features of the Camp - to the proposed rural setting, to its low tech and realistic flavour".

The Peaceworker Bootcamp introduces participants to the knowledge and skills necessary in preparing for voluntary or paid work in the fields of humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development assistance. It offers an exciting and challenging experience.
